It’s known as computer processing, and it really is as simple as keeping your computer running whenever you want to.

If this sounds intriguing to you, then read on. I have all the scoop on how it works and how to get started.

How to Earn Money by Leaving Your Computer On

What I’m going to talk about in this post is literally a way that you can make money by keeping your computer on and walking away from it.

It’s known by several names, like computer processing, distributed computing, or you might even hear people discuss how to rent CPU power. It’s all the same thing.

It gets kind of technical, so I’ll explain it as simply as I can.

Other people and businesses need extra computing resources.

Sometimes, it’s better to outsource these resources.

So, they’ll ask people like you who have a computer they aren’t using to keep it on and let them connect to it remotely.

They’ll be able to use your computer’s hardware, like a graphics card or processor, to do what they need to do, whether that’s complex data mining, cryptocurrency mining, etc.

You’ll literally get paid to rent out your computer without needing to bring it anywhere or do anything besides turn it on and keep it on.

How Does Computer Processing Work?

Different sites may have different reasonings for needing your computer, but they’ll all pay you for their use.

It really is as easy as turning on your computer and forgetting about it.

Once you sign up for a site, you’ll be given instructions for setting up your computer to allow others to connect remotely.

Most sites pay for each hour you allow others to connect to your computer and will usually pay you your monthly total at the end of the month.

You don’t need to do anything special besides maybe download a program that will allow others to connect to your system.

How Much Can I Make?

This type of stuff is not going to make you rich, no matter what the sites you find tell you.

Depending on how amazing your computer is, you can expect maybe $50 or so a month.

That’s certainly not bad, but you also need to consider that you’ll need to be running your computer practically non-stop to get anywhere close to that mark.

And, again, that’s only for the best computers with the most updated and coveted hardware.

If you have an old clunker, you might be lucky to get $10 to $20 a month with computer processing.

However, one site known as Kryptex says that, with its system, you can make up to $2800 per month.

Unfortunately, you need what’s known as a “mining farm” to do that, which means you would basically need a whole room of computers set up for constant processing.

But think of it this way: No matter what you earn, it’s more money than you had before and getting paid through this method is about the easiest thing you can do.

Now, for the how you get paid for distributed computing.

Some sites pay with PayPal, but it seems that most of them are leaning more toward the Bitcoin route.

There are some others that pay with other forms of cryptocurrency and online payments, too, like wire transfers or electronic gift cards.

Is Computer Processing Safe for My Computer?

Generally speaking, almost anything you do online can be risky for your computer.

That’s because viruses, malware, and all kinds of bad stuff are floating around everywhere looking for their next target.

When you let someone else connect to your computer in any capacity, you’re leaving yourself open to the risk that something on your computer might get harmed in the process.

The best way to ensure that you’re as protected as you can be is to have adequate virus protection software and a firewall installed on your computer.

These two together can help prevent anything harmful from getting to your computer as you connect to remote databases for computer processing.

But I would suggest going a step further and only using a spare computer for processing stuff.

Maybe a computer that you replaced a few months ago and don’t rely on as your primary computer anymore, for example.

Having a spare can come in handy when you need to use the computer, anyway.

You can still keep the processing computer running while you do what you have to do on your computer.

Plus, you can always wipe any important stuff off your old computer to keep everything safe and make sure nothing gets into the wrong hands.

Of course, you should only stick to trustworthy sites for computer processing.

I’ve never personally used the sites I’m going to talk about below, but I’ve heard good things about them in reviews.

However, I always encourage you to do your own research, too, before trying a site.

Make sure you read through their privacy policies, terms of service, and other website information to understand how everything works and whether you’re okay with it.

Legitimate sites offer protective services that can keep your personal and computer information safe, like the ability to cross your information through a security layer first to encrypt everything before it gets into the hands of whoever is on the other end using your computer.

You need to be the judge of what you’re comfortable with, especially with this type of site.

Are There Any Disadvantages for Me?

Aside from the potential security issue if you don’t do your due diligence and end up on a scam site, the only real disadvantage is if you did computer processing without using a spare computer.

If you do it with your primary computer, you’ll likely experience a massive slow down in operation, and you may not be able to use your computer at all.

So, heed my suggestion and do this only with extra computer.

You may even be able to pick up one for cheap from Craigslist or the Facebook Marketplace.

Get Started Making Money with Computer Processing

There are several sites on the web that focus on paying you for distributed computing.

There are also a lot of sites that once offered this that now don’t, so I’m not sure how long-term this is as a money-making strategy, but it’s worth a shot for now.

Here are some sites that have good reviews:

LoadTeam

LoadTeam is one of the new kids on the block, but it also looks to be one of the most promising.

It’s a technology company that has an app you can install to your Windows computer.

Keep your computer on, run the app, and let LoadTeam use your computer’s resources.

You only need $1 in your account to transfer your earnings to PayPal, so it’s not like other sites where you’ll need to wait another month to get paid.

LoadTeam also doesn’t have a maximum number of devices you can use for each account, so you’re free to connect any spare device you have to boost your earnings.

MinePrize

MinePrize is a little different than most sites of this type because it requires your computer to have a web browser installed so that it can access the internet from your device.

The reason for this is so that the site can perform tests and complete tasks using your web browser.

It’s especially important with this site to make sure you’re using a spare computer with nothing on it and all data erased from your browser so that it doesn’t mess up any of you work, data, or settings.

You’ll get points for helping out MinePrize, which you can redeem for PayPal cash, smartphones, and other awesome prizes…although I wouldn’t be to sure that you’ll ever gain enough points to win a car!

Earn Money Wizard

Use your due diligence for this site.

It has some mixed reviews…some really good and some really bad.

But if you’re using it on an old, wiped-out device, it shouldn’t harm anything to at least try it.

You’ll need to download the Earn Money Wizard program to your computer.

You can choose to start and stop the program whenever you want or even pause it for a certain length of time.

Those who connect to your system may be using either your graphics card or computer processor.

EM Wizard takes a cut of the profits from both you and the buyer, but it’s a small fee set at around 2% of the final costs.

You can even earn 20% of what your friends earn as a referral bonus.

Golem Network

This one is one of the longer running sites of this kind that’s still around.

It’s basically a huge remote network of computers that others can access when they need some extra computer power.

You can use the marketplace to connect to the system and rent out your computer for others to use.

You can learn more about its “rendering” process here.

MQL 5 Cloud Network

Here, you’ll rent out your idle computer power for cash.

You’re allowed to leave your computer running every day for as long as you want to boost your income.

This does require you to download a program to your computer before you start.

How much you make depends on your computer specs, but a single-core processor can expect to make about 2 cents per hour or just over $14 per month with continuous runtime.

Most computers nowadays have more techie processors than single core, so it’s possible for you to make more than this.

You can choose from PayPal and WebMoney payments.

NiceHash

NiceHash is a place people can find computer processors to borrow to mine cryptocurrency, which is becoming quite the profitable side gig.

You, of course, can rent out your computer to help these people out.

It’s not surprising that the site also pays in cryptocurrency.

While you’re there, you can even mine and trade cryptocurrency yourself – if you know how to do all that.

FluidStack

You can get up to $50 per month by renting your desktop to FluidStack, a company that provides cloud services.

By utilizing your computer’s processes, it can continue to outsource some of the heavy work to other computers.

You do need to have internet installed on your computer to allow the company to connect to and use your device.

Your earnings actually depend on your internet speed; the higher your connection, the more you can get paid.

You’ll get $10 per 100 Mbps every month, but even lower speeds can still get $5 monthly.

Kryptex

Last but not least is the company I mentioned previously, Kryptex.

This place seems like it has the most earning potential but remember that you’ll need to have several devices hooked up to see that type of earning.

You’ll download an app to your Windows computer, let it run and do its thing with your computer, and get paid.

A typical gaming PC can make about $40 a month here, which is much more than you’d expect from other sites of its kind.

Choose from a gift card or Bitcoin to receive your cash.

Final Thoughts: How to Make Money with Computer Processing

As you can see, computer processing is something that can give you extra money, but it’s not likely to make you rich.

But what could be simpler than letting your computer make money for you without you having to lift a finger?

That’s the beauty of this paying gig.

So if you have a spare computer you don’t know what to do with, the least you can do is give this a try and see how it works for you.
