How many times a week do you search something on the web, through Google? Probably at least a few times! Well, you certainly aren’t the only one. Not even close!

Well, you can! In fact, some of the positions with Google don’t even require a daily commute, or dress code. That’s right! Google has a few job that will allow you to telecommute.

Be weary of scams

The unfortunate thing about trying to find jobs that will allow you to work from home, is that scams are a frequent finding. When you are not physically entering a building, it can be hard to differentiate whether or not the job, or even company, is legit.

In fact, when it comes to a well-known company, like Google, you may think that it would be hard to be scammed, but that is simply not true.

There are many scammers who use the ever so popular Google logo and create fictitious jobs or programs. Sadly, many don’t realize they are giving out their personal information to a scammer, until it’s too late.

Many of the scams require you to purchase a “kit” or pay a one time fee in order to apply. But a big-time company like Google will never ask you to pay for a job that you may or may not land. Think about it. Why would they need to? Google can easily reach millions of people, for free.

Google kit scam

One of the most common scams that people come across during their Google job pursuit, is a kit.

Basically, there a number of different kits out there. They all claim to have the information you need on how to make thousands of dollars using Google programs, such as Adsense. While Google Adsense is actually a way to earn legitimate money (Don’t worry, there is more Adsense info down below!), the kit itself is an unnecessary purchase.

These kits exist, because scammers can easily prey on people during a vulnerable time in their lives, which will then allow the scam artists to easily gain their credit card information. The one-time application or shipping fee has even been known to be a lie.

In 2009, Google actually filed a lawsuit against online marketers for using both their name, and logo without permission. Perhaps you even remember hearing about it?

The Google Money Tree scam. Not only was the Google name used without actually being affiliated, but there were also allegations of the online marketers making bogus promises.

First, consumers were under the impression that there was only a one-time shipping fee, but that was not the case. They were charged monthly fees, after the initial purchase. Second, they were also promised to be able to make $100,000 in just six months, which of course never happened.

Thankfully the Federal Trade Commission stepped in, and was able to help refund over 93,000 checks, to reimburse those who were scammed.

So now that you have been familiarized with some of the scam tactics out there, how can you go about finding a real job with Google? There are a few ways to find real jobs, but the most foolproof way to find any job is to visit the company’s official home page.

If you happen to get so caught up with life, that you happen to forget to bookmark this page (cough, bookmark it now, cough), you can easily access Google careers from the search engine home.

Just click on the tiny “about” link in the top, left-hand corner of the page. From there you will be able to scroll all the way down to the bottom where you will find numerous other links. Click on the careers link, to see the various job opportunities that are currently awaiting.

From there you can view thousands of job positions that are currently available. However many of them will require you to commute, and may not even be local to you. So your best bet is actually just to use the search function.

However, keep in mind, if you are looking for a job where you can work from your own home office, look for jobs that specifically say, “remote,” or “telecommute.” So make sure to read through the requirements, and other information, before submitting an app for a job that you don’t even qualify for.

Once you have narrowed your search down, and have come across a suitable job, just fill out an application. But don’t forget to attach your resume!

And as with all job searches, check back frequently. Even though you may not find what you are looking for right now, the right opportunity could possibly be days away from appearing.

If you have previously searched for work from home gigs, it is possible you have already heard of a Google ads rater.

A Google ads rater is quite similar to a search engine evaluator, but instead of rating the search engine, you will be rating the relevance of various ads. All this means is that you will visit various sites, and rate how well the ads relate to the page they are on.

To find out whether or not Google has any current openings, you can utilize the search feature on their careers page. But they are not always available there. Many enjoy survey sites as a form of easy money, but if you are not looking to make money filling out forms Google Adsense is a great option for you. Especially if you are a blogger, YouTuber, or simply have your very own website. Even if you are considering to create your own website in the future, you should check this out.

While you will not directly be employed by Google, it is another fairly easy way to make some extra income, and best of all, the service is free!

Basically, when you have an account with Adsense, it will allow you to place ads throughout your website. Pending on the type of ad, you can earn money each time someone clicks on an ad, or even simply from the ad loading.

I can’t tell you how much you can make from Adsense, as the amount varies greatly from ad to ad. I can, however, tell you that this is not a way to get rich. Adsense is mostly just a way to earn some extra bucks. Though the more traffic your site has, the more potential you have to earn larger amounts.

How does it work?

Everyone always wonders how people can get paid to have ads placed on their website. The answer is much easier than what you are expecting to hear.

The advertiser pays for each ad to appear on your (or someone else’s) website. Though with Adsense, they pay Google, who in turn will fork over your share, just for supplying the ad space.

Advertisers will set their own prices, by actually bidding on webspace, in the style of an auction.

You, on the other hand, are responsible for choosing the type of ad you wish to have. You can choose from a text ad, or a display ad, which includes imagery. When choosing your ads (you can have up to three, per page), you will have the ability to choose the size and location of your ad, and even customize it, so that it compliments your website.

While you do not have the option to choose a specific ad, say, a NordicTrack treadmill ad, you will have the option to remove and block particular ads. But you generally should not have to worry about what kind of ads will appear on your site. Adsense does the work for both you, and the advertiser, by placing specific ads on specific websites. They do this by basing the ads off of the visitors that frequent your site.

Using Google Adsense is super easy. You will even have access to your earnings reports whenever you are logged in with your account. Once you notice that your earnings have accumulated to $100 you will then be able to cashout, via check, or a bank transfer.

Policies

We have all accepted user agreements without taking the time to read them thoroughly. But when you create an account with Adsense, be sure to read all of their policies. If any violations are found on your website, Google will not hesitate to deactivate your Adsense account. And if that happens, you will not be allowed to create a new one!

So while you might be tempted to click on the ads on your website, be sure to refrain. Doing so is just one of the violations that you may end up losing your account over.
