Tips for the Website Tester Job from Home

When you work at home, it can be hard to know how to act professional. If you’re going to work at home as website tester, then there are some things you should know!

Being a website tester isn’t quite like the other work from home jobs available out there. Every person who works from home has to do their best! Website testers are expected to do a good job because their clients are expecting them to do a good job.

Here are my tips for the website tester working from home.

Background noise is a no

Working as a website tester, you need to keep the background noise to a minimum. A lot of times, they are listening to your voice to hear what you think.

They don’t want to hear background noise, so make sure this isn’t happening while you’re doing your testing.

Read all of the directions carefully

You just want to get paid, right? Which is why you need to read all of the directions carefully! The website testing companies list their directions clearly, so follow them!

Reading each and every line and seeing what the client wants is so important. Sometimes you just have to stop and read the directions over again.

Speak clearly into the microphone

When I used to do website testing, I was told I didn’t speak loud enough or clear enough. By speaking clearly, the job provider can hear everything you’re saying, which is important.

This may also be why speaking native English is important. Don’t be discouraged if the website asks you if you speak Native English, it just may be a part of their job requirement.

Be patient to get paid

A lot of these website testing companies will pay you, it’s just a matter of when. Most will pay you within 2-7 days of completing the test.

Be patient and know that they will pay you ASAP! I like to keep when I do a test in my planner. That way I can see when I did it and when I should expect to get paid.

Sign up for as many websites as you can

Becoming a website tester isn’t always a job that provides frequent work. You really have to be able to stay organized and on top of it.

Sign up for alerts, so you never miss a website testing options. There are plenty of opportunities out there that you should be able to stay pretty busy.

However, keep in mind that it’s never guaranteed.

Pay attention to feedback

All of these website testing companies will give you feedback. You really just have to pay attention to the feedback and apply it the next time.

If you want to be better at website testing, then you will pay attention to what they have to say.

Final Thoughts

Working from home as a website tester can be super fun. It’s also very rewarding. You get to experience websites firsthand before anyone else, which is really cool.

I also think it’s a great opportunity to learn as a work from home professional. The more website testing you do, the better you will become.
