Americans typically spend over 32 hours a week jamming out to music. That’s almost a full-time work week! Whoa! What if we said that you could also make some cold hard cash while listening to music?
You heard that right! You can put your music time to work! There are many companies out there that are looking for people like you, who love music. Not to mention, they are willing to pay some money for your services.
Is Review Music for Money Profitable?
Before we get into which companies pay you to listen to music, you are probably thinking this is a complete waste of time or even a scam.
But we like to tell you, that you are wrong in thinking that. With the amount of time that you listen to music, you can be making some money along with it.
A little money never hurt anyone.
But, is it profitable?
That will be up to you and your definition of profitable. Will it pay to put your child through college? No.
Will it be a nice little side income for stay at home parents? Yes.
Always keep in mind just like brick and mortar jobs, you’ll find that some pay better than others too. Not all companies are created equally.

Slice the Pie
Slice the Pie opened their doors back in 2007. The company allows small artists and bands to get their music rated by ordinary people, like you.
Most of the reviews go back to the artists to help them evaluate how their music is being perceived by music fans, which can provide some valuable insight into their music.
The reviews allow the artists and bands know what the music fans think of them, which in return, provides great feedback.
Your job will be the reviewer. You will be paid for your reviews. This is what a simple Slice the Pie review will look like.
How Does Reviewing Work?
As a reviewer, you will be given a selection of random songs by random artists and bands. You will be required to listen to at least 90 seconds of audio before you will be permitted to submit your review.
- You will need to provide a text-based review. This is where you can include your opinions on a few things including:
Keep in mind the more things you include, the higher ranking you’ll achieve. The higher ranking you hold, the more money you can earn.
2. You will be required to rate the song on the scale of 1 to 10. Where 1 is extremely low and 10 is extremely high.
How Much Can I Expect to Make?
Most review payments start off at $0.02 per review, having said that my initial earnings started at $0.05, then went up to $0.07 most likely because I added more detail in my second review.
Typically, if you put in little to no effort your review will make you $0.02. Having said that, you will typically average between $0.05 to $0.10 a review. This will all be dependent on how much detail you add in your review.
However, it is reported that each review can make you anywhere from $0.02 up to $0.20. Keep in mind, that you will need to make a minimum of $10 before you can request payout.
Research FM is similar to Slice the Pie. You will be listening to short music clips and then you will rate them.
Your ratings will be passed along to various radio stations. This allows the radio stations to understand what music you would prefer to hear.

You will want to keep a close eye on your email because you will be getting invitations to listen to these music clips in your inbox.
However, unlike Slice the Pie, you will be paid in Amazon gift cards rather than cold hard cash.
HitPredictor is owned and operated by iHeart Media Inc. Just like the previous two companies, you will be rating music.
However, something different with HitPredictor is when you sign up, you will be able to select your music preferences. This will ultimately allow you to receive music in the genres that you are interested in.
What’s the Pay?
For every rating that you do, you will receive 3 points. You can only rate one song every two minutes. This will allow you to make around 90 points every hour. If you rate 15 songs during a calendar week, you will be awarded 15 points for free.
For about every 10 songs, you will be awarded with a $5 Amazon gift card for your work. All Amazon gift cards are electronic and will be emailed to you within a week.
However, HitPredictor holds many prizes draws and sweepstakes you can enter to win other various prizes.
Music XRay opened their doors back in 2009. It allows artists and bands to submit their songs and allow people like you to earn money listening to these clips of music.
What’s cool about Music XRay is that it allows users like you to pick genres that you are interested in.
How it Works
Artists and bands will pay a fee to promote their work using Music XRay. In return, you will be required to listen to these recordings. Typically, a recording is around 30 seconds. You will be paid a few cents per song you listen to.
You are required to listen to a minimum of 30 seconds to be credited. After you finish listening to the sample, you can either decline or become a fan. It doesn’t matter what option you select, you will still be paid for it.
Pro-Tip: It is must change your music genres on a weekly basis, to ensure you keep getting clips to listen to.
How do I Get Paid?
Music XRay pays their reviewers through Paypal. You will need to make a minimum of $20 before they can request payment.
InboxDollars is a bit different than the other companies mentioned above. InboxDollars is a get paid to (GPT) site.
However, InboxDollars also has a music section. The music section is brought to you by RadioLoyalty.
When you go through your InboxDollars account, your earnings will accumulate in InboxDollars. However, if you feel as if you are not going to use the rest of the InboxDollars site, we recommend just signing up to RadioLoyalty instead.
However, the InboxDollars site has many other ways you can make money too. It’s not just music driven.
Anyone looking to sign up for InboxDollars must be at least 18 years or older.
FusionCash is like InboxDollars. It is a GPT site. The music section is brought to you by RadioLoyalty.
Just like InboxDollars, if you only plan to listen to music and not take advantage of their cash offers, referral program, and surveys, it is best to just sign up to RadioLoyalty.
How Do Payments Work?
With FusionCash when you have $25 in your account, you will get your payments on the 20th. You can either get your payments through PayPal, direct deposit, or a check.
You will need to be 13 years or older in the United States to sign up. If you are not in the United States, you will need to be 18.
Earnably is just like InboxDollars and FusionCash. It is another GPT site. Again, the music section is brought to you by RadioLoyalty.
However, with Earnably, you only need $2 in your Earnably account to cash out. Earnably uses PayPal to pay their people. This is a lot less than most of the GPT sites.
We’ve talked a little bit about RadioLoyalty already. RadioLoyalty is available on the web, tablets, and your smartphones.
RadioLoyalty is a service where you can listen to music and earn points. You typically will earn about $0.10 per 10 minutes. There will be a CAPTCHA you will need to input every few minutes to ensure that you are in fact still listening.
Your points can then be cashed in for numerous prizes including VISA gift cards.
Anyone over the age of 18, is permitted to sign up to start earning some points.
Unique Rewards is another great get paid to site. They also have a music option that is similar to the other GPT sites.
Unlike the other GPT sites Unique Rewards, will require to you type in a Captcha once every 30 minutes. This is far less often than the others.
How Do Payments Work?
On the other hand, you will be earning a tiny bit less from this company than the others. Those that live in the US will make $0.03 every time they enter in a CAPTCHA and those who reside in Canada and the UK will receive $0.01.
In most cases, you’ll see your earnings credited to your account in about 24 hours.
It typically takes about 24 hours for your earnings to credit you Unique Rewards account. Once you’ve reached $20, you will be permitted to cash out using PayPal or by requesting a check.
Only people residing in Canada, United States, and the United Kingdom are permitted to sign up with Unique Rewards. You must be at least 13 years or older with your parents’ permission to sign up.
Don’t sit around and listen to music without making something out of it. You may think the payout is too little to be bothered with, but as we always say is some money is better than no money. Especially, when you don’t have to do anything but enter a CAPTCHA in occasionally.
